Assistance and funding from the Foundation for Finnish Inventions

The Foundation can provide assistance for developing the innovative ideas or inventions of private persons and start-ups.

In the initial evaluation carried out by the regional Product Track team, the team can commission various additional studies on the idea to support their evaluation, including novelty searches, market surveys or studies related to technology or manufacturing. During the initial evaluation stage, the Foundation does not yet directly fund individual inventions.

If the idea is considered to have growth opportunities and international potential, it can be directed to the Foundation for Finnish Inventions for development. At this stage, more in-depth studies and surveys can be commissioned concerning, for example, the IPR strategy, markets and the building of a prototype.

Following these studies, the Foundation may grant funding for an invention or idea to cover, for example, patenting, testing of the technical and commercial performance, product development and commercialisation.

Funding decisions are always made on a case-by-case basis. The Foundation's funding is risk financing, which does not require securities.
