Evaluating the idea

Initial evaluation aims at identifying ideas and inventions which have the potential to achieve growth in international markets if they are successfully developed.

When evaluating the business potential of an idea, the Product Track team pays attention to, among other things, the following:

• the novelty of the idea
• the protectability of the idea
• the idea's degree of completion
• the added value obtained by the customer from the product or service
• the reproducibility of the idea
• the sector's market situation and market growth rate, and
• possible similar existing services or products under development

To back its evaluation, the Product Track team can commission further surveys which most often concern the novelty, technology and markets of the idea or invention. The Foundation for Finnish Inventions bears the costs for these surveys so that they are free of charge to you.
