Licensing

In licensing, the owner of the idea gives the licensee the rights to his or her invention in exchange for compensation - usually the right to manufacture and sell the product or service based on it. In licensing, the proprietary rights to the invention remain with the licensor.

In licensing, the inventor can still be involved in helping the company develop the idea into an innovative product.
