An invention can be commercialised by selling the proprietary rights to it, i.e. all of the rights attached to it to someone else. Once the sale of the invention has been closed, the seller of the invention no longer owns his or her invention and the buyer will be in charge of developing the invention further and protecting it.
Selling the invention in its entirety is a recommended solution especially when the inventor lacks sufficient experience or know-how in the sector related to the idea or opportunities to participate in developing the idea further together with the buyer. A contract of sale is prepared and signed to close the deal.
